A left-wing festival organised by the Socialist Workers Party, Marxism Festival takes place this year from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 July in Shoreditch, London. It brings together meetings, mass rallies, speakers, debates, live music, a culture tent, film screenings and more. Speakers this year include Yanis Varoufakis, Zarah Sultana, Gary Younge, Tariq Ali, Andrew Feinstein and James Meadway to name but a few.

The 139th Durham Miners Gala will take place on Saturday 11 July 2026. The Gala is quite simply the world’s greatest celebration of community, international solidarity and working class life. This unique and inspiring spectacle sees more than 200,000 people pack the streets of Durham to enjoy the sights and sounds of ‘The Big Meeting’. People from across County Durham, the country and internationally, assemble in the city centre from early morning. For anyone on the left, it’s an event that’s not to be missed and attending the Gala is an experience that is sure to live long in the memory.

The Tolpuddle Martyrs’ Festival and rally is an annual festival held in the village of Tolpuddle, in Dorset, which celebrates the memory of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. The event is a celebration of trade unionism and labour politics organised by the Trades Union Congress South West office, with the support of unions and features a parade of banners from trade unions, a memorial service, speeches and music.
